Comics, Toys, and Noise

Comikazi was the first wargaming shop I ever frequented. Even though it's been closed nearly a decade, I look back on it with the ruby shades of nostagia.

The basic design of the model is from MicroTactix. I can't recall the name of the line, but it's from their Heroic Scale Modern Terrain line.

I entirely disreguarded their directions this time around. Instead of just printing them on cardstock, folding and gluing them I trimmmed and mounted them on foam core sheet. I used a rabbit cutter designed for foamcore on the edges and assembly was a snap. The increased thickenss of the walls required me to measure and cut a new roof.

The store signs and posters are custom art. The overhang is a modified version of a Fat Dragon Games EZ Heroes accessory. I had to edit it to make it stretch the length of the building. The Pocket Poster was nabbed from an in game screen shot. Iron Man Buildboard art snagged from Iron Man Movie concept art googling.

The Pocket D poster is a nod to City Of Heroes players. You would find Pocket D posters all thoughout that game.

I should mention that if the color looks odd it's becuase I printed the main building in black and white on yellow cardstock. No color printer was in my possesion at the time. The Color Details were printed on a 4x6 glossy sheet for $.19 at the local 1 hour photo

Hey Adam, remember to add link to custom 4x6 cutsom art here
